And fruit?

If you live a foraging life, how can you have fruit available throughout the year, living so far north?

Simple! You just dry them.

“I´m virtually self sufficient with fruits and berries throughout the year. This year´s stock I reckon will last till the raspberries are ready to harvest again.”

Then follows the summer with abundance of fresh fruits hanging in the trees..

He´s got loads. And in his fridge, there is a bowl with dried fruits in water. They soak up, and becomes almost like fresh! Very tasty. I much prefer it to the faint tasting shop -berries flown in from all over the world all year around..
